Extra Start Up Tips
- When filling the spa in the South Dakota market we highly recommend filling your water with the “On The Go” Water softener. This is needed in our market even if you have a softener in your home.
- Pro-tip be sure to “recharge” your On The Go softner after each full drain and refill. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBBewXRNW2c
- Test the hardness is above 50 PPM use the Vanishing Act Pillow to lower hardness. Follow instructions on packaging.
- Balance the water.
- Hardness needs to be below 75 ppm.
- Alkalinity 80-120
- pH 7.4 -7.8
- Chlorine .5-1.0 ppm
- Bringing a sample in and having it tested is really nice as it give you the exact measurement needed to balance your water.
- Pro Tip. The computerized water test is the most accurate way to balance the water. However it will suggest to keep the chlorine at a higher suggested level then is needed.
- The first 3 days add 2 TBS of chlorine everyday to get rid of any contaminates that could of accumulated during the manufacturing and delivery process.
- Once water is up to 95 degrees or higher add salt to the filter compartment. Salt dosages are on the side of the Freshwater Spa Salt Bag

- Pro Tip only do 3/4 dosage on first day and check 24 hours later add the rest if needed
- For the best and easiest to care for water add the Freshwater Silver Ion Cartridge at this time. (Change every 4 months when you change your Freshwater Salt Cartridge)
- 24 Hours later check your salt level with the test strips (1750 is the goal) and we want your dial to read almost 12:00
- Once salt is good set the output 5 is a good starting point. Adjust with use.
- Every 11 days the system will ask you to test the water and adjust.
- If you do not test the water every 11 days it will cut the out put by 20% and will cut another 20% the next 11 days.
- Clean your filters once a month
